Plan Room |

Our membership-based Plan Room
services the needs and requirements of
prime construction contractors,
architects, engineers and contract
owners, as well as minority, women and
small-business contractors. We
established the Plan Room under the
sponsorship of:
- The North Carolina Department of
Transportation
- The City of Raleigh
- The Wake County Public School
System
- Wake Technical Community College
- N.C. Small Business & Technology
Development Center
- the support of the UNC System
Many of the contractors who enter our
program lack the critical business tools
necessary to sustain viable enterprises.
One of our sponsors has agreed to
provide a state-of-the-art construction
software package. Our staff will
schedule regular training on that
software, which will allow these
business owners to control their
construction projects from start to
finish. This software will enhance the
contractors' business skills throughout
the process, from initial brainstorming
sessions to the day-to-day updating.
Optional orientation modules include
networking, industry information and
updates to hone the contractors'
professional development and procurement
opportunities with general and prime
contractors.

The
business service gap filled
by the
RBTC Plan Room is
significant: Emerging
construction contractors and
established contractors will
utilize our expertise to
successfully bid and deliver
their
contracted services.
In
order to become a member,
you must go through our
mandatory orientation and
complete a questionnaire and
member profile. The
orientation will also
include instructions on how
to access projects.
